Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette
This palette! I have been using this palette from Urban Decay non-stop since I got it in August. To be completely honest, I wasn’t that excited about it when it first launched.
It seemed a bit been there done that, but once I got to play around with it a bit, I knew what the hype was about.
What a lovely collection of gorgeous orange/rusty tones that are super creamy and pigmented. It reminded me why the Naked Palettes are some of my all-time favorite palettes in my collection. Another huge plus is that they suit for so many eye colors.
Tan-Luxe Illuminating Self-tan Drops for Face
So many of you have asked me that what is my favorite self-tanner. I might even do a separate blog post on that topic. well, I have few favorites I have always struggled to find a perfect tanner for my face.
This summer I was forced to find one fast because the weather where I live has been horrendous. When it wasn’t raining, it was remarkably cold outside, so as you can connect the dots…no sunshine = no nice tan = super dark eye circles.
To make the long story short, I was looking into some new products and found these drops. I loved the idea that I can mix these with my favorite skin care product, because most of the self-tanners for the face, do break me out.
This one hasn’t broken me out at all. This little bottle lasts you for a while and you can mix it with your favorite skin care product (oil, serum, cream…) and you can control yourself how strong of a tan you want. It’s not too olive toned, but it’s also not too red based. I would say it leaves a very realistic result.
Plus it smells like raspberries (although on the second day I noticed a bit of a self-tanner scent on my skin, as I liked the effect a lot I can get over the slight self-tan scent).
MAC COSMETICS Strobe cream in Goldlite
Weirdly this product is always sold out in the stores. I managed to find this one from the Selfridges website and really have been using this daily. Such a lovely highlighter/primer. If you are really into that “sunkissed” look, then this will fall in love with this one in a second. They do have other strobe creams, but the gold one seems to work on my skin tone the best.
This has been my go-to foundation this whole year. Before the Forever one, I have never been a fan of Dior foundations in general (mostly because of their shades way too pink toned for my olive skin and also the strong scent). I find that I have finally managed to find a really good one and the shade 21 is perfect for me. This shade is verý yellow/olive toned. At one point I also considered to get the shade 31 (that should be a shade darker, also yellow/olive toned), but it turned out to be a way too dark for me. It’s weird how far apart these two shades are. I’m still hunting down their concealer that is always sold out in my shade. Will let you know if it was as good as this foundation. PS. I wouldn’t recommend this to people who have very dry skin, it can be very drying.
NYX Cosmetics Precision Blending Sponges
Listen up ladies! These sponges are EVERYTHING!!! I’m not even kidding. Such a find! Forget about the Beautyblender “tiny egg” ones and go try out these from NYX ASAP. Just don’t forget to wet them before you use them! Now you would ask why do I like them so much?! First of all: their shape (they are easy to hold and are pointed in the end – that makes applying undereye concealer much easier), also the price: they are so much affordable than the Beautyblender “little eggs” and much more durable than any of the other ones I have tried and tested. I would strongly recommend to check them out. What a great find this year and you can’t beat the quality for this price!
NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
These lip creams are just magical. They are so pigmented and this shade Stone Fox is the ultimate color for me. I usually put it on with a black lipliner. A great consistency that lasts all night and doesn’t dry out my lips as much as the other matte lip creams/ lipsticks in my collection.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil
I got this one because of Caroline Hirons. Btw if you haven’t heard of her yet, go check her out. She is amazing! That woman knows what she is talking about. Most of the time! Hehe 😛 xx This lip oil is really nice and one of the few Clarins products I really enjoy using.
The consistency is very light and not sticky. The oil itself looks green in the tube but goes on clear, it smells minty and makes your lips tingle a little bit (not as much as the La Mer Lip Balm, because that is a whole another level). I also like the huge doe foot applicator it has, but the only downside of the packing is that every time I try to open the bottle, the oil seems to spill everywhere and that gets really annoying really fast. So just keep that in mind when you have a super nice outfit on that you don’t want to get dirty.
Sensai Separating and lengthening mascara
I keep coming back to this mascara over and over and year after year. Look, I have tried most of the mascaras on the market, but I still think this one is made out of magic and is the best-kept secret in the mascara world. Although I must say, this mascara is a nightmare to take off in the evenings as it is one of those ones you need to take off with hot water. But even so, I still use it daily.
Seriously, it has something special to it. It separates and lengthens my lashes like no other mascara and is always that one product I tend to recommend to people who have oily eyelids or find that most mascaras just won’t last. If you are one of those people, then check this one out, but be warned that taking this off can be a hassle.
Basically, it has one of those consistencies that come off with warm water. What I do is that I just take a long hot shower and let the steam from the shower loosen it up before I take it off with a muslin cloth after the shower. Go and try this out, but as I said before, taking this off can be a bit of effort, but nothing you won’t manages.
This is my new favorite brush. Such a random find this summer. I used it for concealer but is also perfect to blend out eyeshadow, foundation etc. Super soft, cruelty-free and great quality for the price.
OH MY WOWWW! This concealer is my new favorite. I have been looking for something like this for ages. Something that has a high pigmentation would be creamy, yet matte. And now there is this new concealer from Nars that ticks all the boxes for me. This little pot will last you ages and would be perfect for someone who is rather lazy with their makeup.
Bioderma Sensibio Rich Soothing Cream
When it comes to this face cream I feel like I should be their ambassador. I keep raving about this cream since I got to try this out for the very first time. I don’t know if I should thank the Bioderma team for this amazing discovery or curse them because now I’m so hooked and can’t live without one in my bag at all time. But they know me well I because this cream has been my go-to product every single day.
It is perfect for the makeup and is the only cream I use when I feel I have over processed my skin with masks and products. It doesn’t sting, calms it down and hydrates so well. I mean, what else do you need from a cream?! And now I basically have given this as a gift to most of my girlfriends who love this as much as I do. <3
Diorshow Extase Mascara
If I don’t use my Sensai mascara I use this one daily. The thing is I think Dior has discontinued this one as I was looking for to buy a new one and I can’t find it anywhere. So if you know where I can still buy them, then please let me know. This would be sad if they have discontinued it for good as this was the best mascara from them in my opinion.
Mothercare Cotton Pads
Another random find. These cotton pads are a great dupe for the Boots extra large cotton pads. As we don’t have Boots where I live, and these ones are very accessible for me at the moment, though I would put them in. You’re welcome! 😀 xx
Boxing
I’ve been enjoying boxing these past months. Such a great way to get fit fast.
VEGAN RESTAURANT CARGO in Helsinki
We found this place in Helsinki the last time we were there and damn they have some good stuff in there. Although I’m not vegan myself and wouldn’t have discovered this place by myself. I am so happy I was introduced to this lovely place. The breakfast there was so nice and I even started to eat Hummus (willingly) for the very first time and you know what, I absolutely loved it. They also have a very nice outdoor terrace, so if the weather is nice – it is a nice place where to hang out. Go and check them out if you are around.
Smoothies
Oh my! I have been into smoothies and drying out new recipes lately. As I have been taking antibiotics for the past few months I need all the healthy stuff I can get. Here is one of the first ones I did. I’m going to call this the “Basic Bitch Smoothie”, as it is such a basic one. But damn, it tastes good! x
30 DAY Minimalism Challenge
I feel like I’ve told everyone about this challenge and video. It’s my second year doing this challenge with my friends and I must admit that it has changed my life for the better.
I couldn’t recommend this little challenge enough! Absolutely amazing. Go check out this video and read more about minimalism itself. I’m a huge fan!
